We have a lovely small double room for a lodger in our central Brighton house.

About us
We’re just moving properly into the house after living between London and Brighton for a while. Alay works in London in events and project management, Juliet works in theatre and film art department.
We currently don't have any pets but are keen to get a rescue dog in the future. Neither of us smoke (smoking for anyone would be outside only) and don't drink too much these days, but we’re still quite fun! Generally day to day we're pretty quiet, preferring watching a film, cooking and exercising more than partying. But we will definitely be having people visit and staying over from time to time in the spare room.

We’re both in our early 40s, we’ve been together almost 20 years, have nearly always lived in share-houses and are still connected to a big converted warehouse of arty people where Alay will often stay while in London. We’re very keen on eco living, recycling and trying to make little impact on the world. We would hope for a lodger who has similar values. Alay is vegetarian, so we don't really have meat or fish in the home, but can be flexible with respectful meat eaters. We’ve had a lot of co-housing experience so hopefully we’re nice to live with!

The house
It’s an old town house over 3 floors, the stairs are narrow and some of the ceilings are low. The bathroom and kitchen are in the basement, which opens on to a nice private courtyard garden. It’s a very quiet road, considering how close to the station it is.

There are wooden floorboards throughout and everything has been recently decorated (or is in the process of!) Central heating makes the place snug, double glazed windows also help.

The room is a small fully furnished double, so not suitable for couples or anyone with too much stuff or their own furniture.

The kitchen has induction hobs, oven, washing machine and plenty of space.
There is good fibre optic Wifi throughout the house.

The area
We're 5 minutes walk from both the station and North Laine. There's a bit of pretty green space at the church yard 5 minutes in the other direction and only 10 minutes walk to the beach of course! It’s the perfect spot for central Brighton living or for commuting.

We'd need one month's deposit and the first month's rent up front. You'll have a lodgers agreement with one month's notice either way.

£700pcm
*All bills and council tax included*
We can be flexible, ideally minimum stay 3 months, no maximum if we find the right person.
Please get in touch if you're interested and we can arrange a viewing.
