I’m looking for a friendly, respectful housemate to share my lovely Brighton home, ideally Monday to Friday.

The house has a warm, relaxed feel and would suit someone who wants more than just a room, somewhere calm, comfortable and homely to come back to after work. One of the best things about the place is the garden: it’s unusually large for Brighton, private, not overlooked, and a really peaceful space to sit out in when the weather allows.

The room or rooms would suit a professional who works locally during the week, or someone who comes to Brighton for work or study and heads elsewhere at weekends. I’m open to discussing arrangements, but a Mon–Fri let would be ideal.

The option here is to have just the upstairs bedroom (2.92m in width and 3.16 in length) or to have that and the exclusive or not, use of the downstairs study/spare room also during the week for an additional cost - I'm flexible with this downstairs room as you could let me use it at the weekends (only for a friend to sleep in), or close it off completely as yours (along with the bedroom).

The upstairs bedroom and downstairs study/spare room are both unfurnished but with large fitted wardrobes. If you need me to furnish with a bed we can discuss...

Possible options - I would not use your bedroom at all in any of these:

1. Upstairs bedroom only — £575 pcm including bills
Private bedroom Monday to Friday, with shared use of the rest of the house, excluding my bedroom. This includes shared use of the kitchen, bathroom, garden, living areas, and desk area in the downstairs study/spare room.

2. Upstairs bedroom + exclusive downstairs study/spare room — £975 pcm including bills
Private bedroom Monday to Friday, plus exclusive use of the downstairs study/spare room. Ideal if you need a dedicated WFH space, extra privacy, or a second room during the week.

3. Upstairs bedroom + exclusive storage/limited use of downstairs study/spare room — £775 pcm including bills
Private bedroom Monday to Friday, plus exclusive access to the downstairs study/spare room for storage or occasional use. The bedroom remains the main private living/sleeping space.

All options include bills and are based on a Monday-to-Friday let. I’m happy to discuss which setup would work best for the right person.

You would be sharing with me, my wonderful medium-sized dog, and two cats. The animals are a big part of the home, so this would be best for someone who genuinely likes dogs and cats. My dog is affectionate, friendly, loves people, and is a joy to be around. The cats are also friendly, and all three animals get along beautifully together, so the house has a very sweet, settled atmosphere.

The home would suit someone considerate, tidy, emotionally mature and easy-going. It’s not a party house, but it is welcoming, comfortable and sociable in a low-key way. I’d love to find someone who enjoys a peaceful home, likes animals, and will treat the space with care.
