A lovely, light and bright double room with desk, in a peaceful, friendly house, with garden, free on-street parking (Zone D), and a place to lock your bike, near Brighton University's Moulsecoomb campus and Sussex University. Lovely views, with the beautiful Downs right across the road. You’ll be sharing with the welcoming owner (me) and one other considerate female lodger. Fast WIFI and bills included.
Available from 23rd April. Short let for one, two or three months initially, with the possibility to extend.
Being near the universities and Downs, the room is ideal for a postgraduate or mature student, a university staff member, a nature lover, or someone seeking a peaceful place to live or visit. (Not suitable for people with lots of kitchen equipment, or other things that don't fit into their bedroom). You're a considerate non-smoker, who's happy to say hello and have a chat, but also happy doing your own thing. You're happy to clear up after yourself, keep your room clean, and keep noise minimal after 22.30 during the week, when you're usually in bed by 23:00 or midnight (not a night owl). Ideally, you work or study outside the home at least 2-3 days a week, and are pescetarian, vegetarian, or don't cook much meat at home.
The room is fresh and clean, with a lovely fireplace and plenty of built-in storage. The desk is W75 x D50cm and has a drawer and adjustable chair. There's a fitted wardrobe (two rails) and cupboards, drawers, bookshelf, under-bed storage, and hooks on the back of the door, useful for hoodies, jackets, scarves and bags.
The house is cosy, with a shower (no bath), a gorgeous view, a multi-zoned garden with a pond and prolific berry bush, sunny decking and a patio. It's lovely in the summer.
Beautiful hills, walks and sea views are right across the road. It's a 2-minute walk to the corner shop and post office, pub with beer garden, and the #49 bus into central Brighton, or a short walk down the hill to Lewes Road, for many more buses (including 3 night buses), the Moulsecoomb campus and university library, and Moulsecoomb train station (not mainline) linking to central Brighton, Falmer and Lewes.
I’m a friendly pescetarian, normally working office hours from home. I go out several nights a week, and am usually coming and going at the weekend. I enjoy singing, parkruns, and getting outside when the weather’s nice
