Hi! I'm Mia, a soon-to-be third year English Lit student in Edinburgh. My two flatmates are set to move out soon, so I'm looking for two other students to fill their shoes (and rooms!)...
Let's get the important stuff out of the way:
The flat is managed by Littlejohn's agency, and exact numbers are still TBC but rent would be around £675 per month, with bills averaging at about £100 split between the three of us (usually £30/40 each per month). For council tax reasons, I'm only looking for students and as it stands now, the move-in date would be roughly at the beginning of July, but it's not set in stone!
So what's the deal with the flat?:
I live in a 3-bed, ground floor flat in the Tollcross area of Edinburgh (just off Lothian Road). We share a bathroom (with full bath-shower combo) and a bright, open kitchen-living-room furnished with a bookshelf, sofa (very comfy, can confirm), dining table (that fits 3 or 4 comfortably) and all the usual amenities you would expect (plenty of cupboard space, cooker, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, sink, washing machine - just no dishwasher or tumble drier unfortunately). There's also a small cupboard in the hallway with our ironing board, hoover etc.
What about the available rooms?:
One has a single bed (with space underneath for storage), plus a wardrobe, chest of drawers and a large bookshelf.
The other also her a single bed on a mezzanine level (accessible via the ladder), plus a wardrobe and large bookshelf.
Okay, so where is it?:
in the heart of Edinburgh! (glen st. itself is luckily relatively quiet, though). Adjacent to several main roads, the flat is convenient to hundreds of shops, cafes and fun things either within walking distance or using the bus stops that are practically on the doorstep. Within a 5 minute walk from the Edinburgh College of Art's main buildings, and a 10 minute walk from the central UoE campus, the flat is ideal for students!
So who wrote this ad anyway?:
Hi (again), I'm Mia! She/they; Glaswegian; 21 (nearly 22); English Lit student and aspiring actor. I love nothing mroe than chatting about movies, TV, theatre, books, music, food, social issues and queer culture (I'm a lesbian - probably best to get that out of the way!). You name it, I will either yap about it or want to learn about it. I hope to cultivate a fun, chill (but tidy), cozy living environment where we make the best of what we have and everyone feels welcome (and no-one is opposed to dancing!).
Roomie requirements:
Friendly, respectful, clean and tidy; that's pretty much it! I'm looking for two LGBTQ+ (or queer friendly) students who are up for a good bit of socialising, but who are kind and courteous whenever anyone needs privacy or space (and please don't feel afraid to advocate for yourself if you're the one in need of you-time!)
If this sounds interesting to you, drop a message with a bit about yourself and we can take it from there :D
