Hi! My flat mate is moving out and that means there’s a room free for you.
I’ve just graduated from Edinburgh University and will start working for an engineering consultancy after summer. The main office is in Glasgow, so I will be commuting a couple of days a week. Most of my weekends will often be filled with playing handball, but when I’m free I’d be down to play some squash, tennis or golf, or go for a hike or go to the pub.
In all humbleness I can cook the perfect hamburger. My homemade pizza made with my pizza stone isn’t too bad either.
I want a flatmate that is willing to do stuff together - not just someone to pay the other half of the rent. It would be nice if we from time to time could eg eat meals together or go and play tennis or sth.
I’m not a fan of rigid cleaning rotas, but I expect both of us to step up when we see that the flat is naturally starting to collect dust and dirt.
I’m advertising the flat as £540 pcm because that’s what we’re paying at the moment. The landlord has notified about a rent increase. It’ll probably remain below £600 pcm. I’ll update the ad when I find out the exact number.
The duration of the lease is set to around 1 year, but don’t put too much into it. Who knows what the future holds? I may also be moving out sometime in the next 2 years.
This flat is in Council Tax Band D and would be £1900 per year (so £950 each)
Some points to tick off your list:
- Large bedroom with double bed
- Equipped kitchen/living room (with a view of Arthur Seat and the night sky)
- Gas hob, electric oven
- Comfy sofa
- One toilet
- Separate shower room
- Washing machine
- Tumble dryer
- No dishwasher :/
- Extra storage room
- Gas heating
- Google Nest smart thermostat (I’ll add you to the Family so that you can turn on the heating right before you come home)
- Garden (with possibility to park your bike)
If this sounds good to you, don’t hesitate to contact me so we can get to know each other. And then we can start the process with the landlord of changing tenancy.
