Hello!
We are looking for a friendly, considerate flatmate to join our 3-person shared flat in Blackford.
The room:
It is a large, south-facing double bedroom. It has bed, chest of drawers, shelves, and desk. It has a large window with views of the Pentlands. Rent is £696 + internet (£10) + council tax (£60)+ electricity and gas (approx. £40 per month).
The flat:
We live in the top (3rd) floor. We share an open plan kitchen that is the heart of the flat with a beautiful south-east facing bay-window and stunning views over Blackford Hill (and many very happy plants!).
We have another shared room with a desk, futon and small TV, which can be used as a study or guest room. There is some storage space, but we try not to clutter the flat with unused furniture etc.
The flat is in good condition throughout, it has gas central heating and, since its last EPC, has been double glazed throughout, a new boiler fitted, and loft insulation increased. There is access to the shared garden.
It’s Council Tax Band E (~£70 per person per month).
The area:
It is a quiet residential area in the south of Edinburgh with free on-road parking. We have a small corner-shop within 2 min walking distance. Blackford Hill and the Kings Buildings are within walking distance.
About us:
We are Rae (they/them) and Laurence (he/him). both in our early thirties, looking to create a harmonious shared living environment. Rae works with a charity as a researcher and Laurence is doing a PhD in social sciences.
It feels important to us to have a warm, friendly, LGBTQ+ space. Although we lead fairly independent lives, we also enjoy coming together to cook (mainly vegetarian / vegan), eat and chat. We enjoy the occasional pub trip or dinner with friends in the flat but don’t bring the party home. The flat is more of a calm place to retreat to than a lively social hub. We value sustainability and share a veg box and some other dried food items, and think of our home as a fairly communal and caring space.
Our home is very important and we are keen to find someone like-minded to join us, who will care for the flat and who is looking to create a respectful shared space based on kind and honest communication.
We aim to hold viewings / interviews during the week commencing 21st September. Move in date 1st Oct or as sooner after.
If you feel like you would be a good fit, please let us know a bit about you, your interests and your way of living. We look forward to hearing from you!
