We are a friendly, easy going professional couple offering a lovely room in a spacious terraced house in the highly sought-after Murrayfield area.

The room is available from the 1st October and we would favour a letting period of 6 to 12 months initially, with the option to extend.

About Your Housemates
You will be sharing with Alan and Sandra in a relaxed, family-friendly household. Sandra’s daughter Hazel and her young son Finn live close by and like to visit. We are looking for someone easy-going who appreciates a warm, welcoming, family feel to their home.

“I moved from London to Edinburgh for a job opportunity and rented a room with Sandra and Alan for around 9 months before moving back.

“My experience was nothing short of amazing — I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable from day one. The room I stayed in was spacious and bright, with a decent amount of storage. The rest of the house was always clean, well-cared for, and beautifully decorated — a reflection of the work Sandra and Alan put into the interior design.

The open kitchen added to the spacious feel of the home, with plenty of counter space, and was well-equipped with everything I needed for daily cooking, which I was generously allowed to use.

From the moment I moved in, Sandra and Alan were easy to communicate with and quick to help me settle in — offering advice, local tips, and suggestions for places to visit as well. I always felt like I had my own space but could also have a chat or interact freely whenever we saw each other.

I have stayed with Alan and Sandra as a lodger for 8 months and it has been one of the best and most memorable renting experiences for me. They are a constant source of kindness, warmth and friendliness, who go above and beyond. They always ensured a quiet environment around the house after my nightshifts and long on-call shifts which made such a positive impact on my job, asked me about my day, gave me excellent recommendations for activities around Edinburgh and Scotland and remembered to include me in the seasonal festivities. I will fondly remember the good kitchen chats on every topic under the sun and the fact that they lent a listening ear and very wise solutions every time I asked them. In these eight months, I have felt like a part of this lovely family and though I feel very sad to be leaving this place I have come to know as home, I look forward to coming back to Edinburgh and renting again with them. "The house effortlessly runs itself..."

“Sandra and Alan are warm and welcoming, and also chilled and relaxed. The house is spacious, clean and effortlessly runs itself (thanks to the magic cleaning fairies). The garden is south facing and in the warm weather a welcome space after work. The bed in my room is soooo comfortable. The bathroom has a great shower and bath.
