Helloooooo potential new housemate!
The people you live with are important - we've given quite a bit of detail about us, and the house, and would appreciate the same from you :)
Looking forward to reading about you.
(If you're reading this the room still available and I will get back to you either way.)
The house
This is a gorgeous, Victorian (possibly Edwardian?) house, with high ceilings, many rooms, lots of space (feels criminal), front AND back garden, laundry room and basement. Some quirks.
The housemates
We're a sociable bunch and mixed nationalities - Irish, South Korean, South African, Australian, with a variety of interests and different professions - Artist, film, events, researcher, cultural relations, graphic design.
We've all lived together for a few years now and some of us were friends before. The room has become available because one of us bought their own flat (well done to them).
We've all got our own lives going on, but do hang out together and socialise outside the house too. We often cook together, have dinners, watch films and hang in the garden, reading, playing board games, braaing, wondering where all the planes are going and why some birds are flying overhead at certain times of year.
We're respectful of each other's space and movements and look out for and support one other.
We like to keep things clean and tidy (not pedantic) and have a cleaner once a week, but clean up after ourselves day-to-day.
We like a party, but don't bring it home, unless everyone agrees.
We know each other's friends and family who sometimes come over for dinner/parties/to stay for a little :)
There's also a fair amount of travelling taking place between us all.
You
We're looking for someone who will compliment the current vibe and energy of the house. And contribute to the house in various ways - kitchen conversations, getting involved in house projects, outfit advice, plant care.
Kind, considerate, shares and communicates well.
Knows how to live with others :)
The room
This is a lovely double room on the top floor that overlooks the garden. Double glazing, nice and cosy.
If you feel like this is the home for you, get in touch and tell us about yourself – age, occupation, interests, what you're looking for in a house, housemates, your DIY skills, etc.
Other important details:
Pets
We'll consider cats, but please note some housemates are allergic and we would want to talk about needs, expectations and their personality.
Availability
The room will be available from May 12th. We can be flexible if you need to bring some items over before this date and of course move in whenever suits, but rent for May will be from 12 - 31.
Rent
£755, including bills - please note it is possible the bills will fluctuate, but we've managed to keep them consistent for some time now.
Other communal costs
Cleaning products, kitchen essentials - olive oil, Kerrygold, salt, spices etc. We split everything on Monzo.
Furniture
The room is technically unfurnished, but there might be a bed and a few other items for sale, can discuss.
Location
The house is located between Clissold and Finsbury Park. There is also a reservoir with a nature reserve and a climbing centre nearby. The house has great transport links and is only a 10–15-minute walk from both Arsenal and Finsbury Park Stations, with bus stops a two-minute walk just around the corner.
Accessibility
There is a short path up to the house, with six steps up to the front door. Inside there are steps down into the dining area and kitchen and two flights of stairs up to the main bathroom. The room is one more flight up, on the top floor.
