Are you "Woke"? Perhaps a bit of a geek? Are you looking for a cheap, quiet place to live in the city where you can just get on with being your best self? Do you pay your share of bills on time?
I'm looking for 2 housemates to join me in the mostly-furnished house that I call home, just off Splott Road. What do I mean by mostly furnished? Good question! I've managed to furnish most of the place, but there is enough space for you to make the place your own too :)
This could be the place for you if you're making the move to Cardiff for the first time, or are trying to save for a housing deposit, or just looking for an affordable place to live!
About me:
Hi, my name is Brigitte--I'm a queer woman in her 30s. I'm a bilingual geek, a leftist, and involved in theatre/community building.
I work a 9 to 5 job from home (in my own room), and despite being sociable only really have a guest or two over every week or so. The rowdiest we get is a good boardgame!
About the property:
Kitchen is a good size, ample fridge and freezer space.
Washing machine and separate tumble dryer
There is a dishwasher, if that's your thing!
Dining room (perfect for boardgames, a craft session or dinner with friends)
Living room has a Large TV, games consoles available to set up, comfy seating.
Bathroom has a walk-in shower with a rainfall showerhead.
Back yard suitable for getting fresh air and chilling out.
Essentially it's a Home, not just a house or HMO. Using and decorating the communal areas is encouraged!
About the area:
Several nearby bus routes connecting to city centre, though we are close enough to walk there without issue.
Small local high street (Clifton street) nearby, with a variety of shops. Splott road also has a selection of shops and food options, which is admittedly closer!
Big stores equally close in the opposite direction on Newport Road.
Area is quiet and doesn't get a lot of through-traffic.
Within walking distance of Cardiff Indoor Flea market (if you haven't been there yet you simply must check it out, most of my furniture is from there--I just love the place)
Cost breakdown:
Rent--£340 PCM
Council Tax-- Approx £58 PCM
Gas & Electric-- Approx £55 PCM (please note this is variable)
Water-- £20 PCM
Internet-- £12 PCM
(ie approx. £485 PCM)
Stipulations from the letting agents/leeches:
You need to be employed (cannot be a zero-hour contract)
You must not have an adverse credit history (CCJs, etc)
Students may be acceptable if they can provide a UK-based guarantor
Ideally looking for women or LGBT flatmates but this is negotiable for the right person :)
Photos to follow when current housemate is back from vacation!
