We have a small but comfortable furnished double room available in our four-bedroom family home.

Our home is in Nursling, close to David Lloyd gym, the NHS facility in Nursling, within bus or walking distance to SGH (5 mins in the car), and only a few miles to Southampton City Centre. (20 mins by bus, or 10 mins in a car).

We are a friendly, busy family with one child and a large but very friendly German Shepherd dog, so it is essential that whoever comes to live with us genuinely likes both children and dogs and is comfortable living in a lively & positive family home.

This isn’t a traditional house-share – we’re looking for someone who would enjoy having a friendly, safe and homely base. You are very welcome to join in with family life and have a chat when you feel like it, but there is absolutely no expectation to do so. If you prefer to keep yourself to yourself and enjoy your own space, that’s completely fine too.

Who we’re looking for

We would particularly welcome enquiries from working professionals, doctors, teachers, medical students and others working or studying in similar professional settings.

As we have a child in our home, we are looking for someone trustworthy and responsible. An appropriate current DBS check is essential, and we will ask for references and proof of employment or study before agreeing the room.

You must be genuinely comfortable around children and a large dog – our German Shepherd is friendly and very much part of the household!

A few important things

The room is not suitable for somebody working remotely/from home full time.

We also ask that there are no overnight guests.

We are looking for the right person rather than simply filling the room – someone friendly, respectful and trustworthy who would appreciate having a welcoming family home as their base.
