🛏️ The room
Spare double in our two-bed (plus office) maisonette. Fully furnished and ready to move into, bed, large wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk and TV all included.
🏠 The rest of the space
Shared fully equipped kitchen, recently renovated and used a lot, includes dish washer, washing machine, dryer, coffee machine, well stocked knives/pots and pans.
Bathroom has a bath and a separate walk-in shower. Living/dining space also recently renovated, large TV, opens onto the balcony. Non-working fireplace.
The flat has balconies on both sides and a garden down the stairs. The garden's a bit of a project at the moment; we're planning to do it up properly before next summer.
🏙️About the area
We're a minute's walk from a Co-op and a Sainsbury's Local, with a bigger Sainsbury's not much further. Maze Hill station is about six minutes away and gets you into London Bridge and Cannon Street in roughly 12 and 15 minutes. It also serves Blackfriars/Farringdon in 15-20minutes. North Greenwich is a five to ten minute bus ride for the Jubilee line and the O2. Canary Wharf is quick via the DLR from Cutty Sark station.
Greenwich town centre, the market and Greenwich Park are a 10–15 minute walk. The park is a brilliant run, and the Thames Path is right on the doorstep if you'd rather go flat and riverside. Deptford is walkable with a great selection of pubs/bars/restaurants. The Pelton Arms and the Cutty Sark Tavern are both about two minutes from the door, with the Trafalgar Tavern and plenty of others nearby.
👫🏻About us
We're a couple of 5-years, Joe (30, works in financial services) and Lowri (28, works in marketing and events). Both pretty busy Monday-Friday and will be in the office 3-4 days a week. Outside work it's festivals, music, running, rugby and cycling, plus a fair bit of cooking. We've got a good group of friends nearby and usually end up doing something social at the weekend.
Ideal housemate
25-33 year old professional who’s familiar with London and on a similar work from home schedule to us. Short stays are welcome and we're equally happy with something longer for the right person.
We're relaxed housemates, no rotas, few rules. Ideal person is relaxed, clean/tidy and respectful of the space, willing to be social whilst also having their own friends and plans going on too.
Rent: £950pcm, bills excluded and come to £150pcm and includes gas/electric/water/council tax/wifi/tv licence.
*We own the flat and live in it, so this is a lodger arrangement rather than a standard tenancy. Practically, that means less admin and more flexibility on both sides: no agency, no referencing fees, no fixed twelve-month tie-in, and a month's notice. If your plans change, you're not stuck.
It also means the place is properly looked after. Things get fixed because we live with them too, the bills are already set up, and the kitchen is stocked with actual equipment.
We'll need to do a Right to Rent ID check before you move in, which is a legal requirement for any let. Deposit is one month’s rent and there are no admin or referencing fees.
