We're looking for a new housemate to join our relaxed, eclectic home in a lovely 2-bed house, just 15 minutes' walk from Brixton and Stockwell tube stations.
About the room: The large double bedroom (4m x 3m) comes furnished and is located on the second floor. The house is accessed through a communal garden, shared with our landlady who lives in the house next door. Your bedroom has the advantage of a garden view and morning birdsongs, without the buzz of the road.
About the house: Split over three floors, with the entrance and storage on the ground, communal areas on the first, and the two bedrooms on the second floor. There is a shared bathroom plus a separate toilet. Communal areas have lino and carpet throughout, except the bedroom which has wooden floorboards.
There are occasional events organised next door, including soirées, live music and gong baths.
The location: Well connected: 15 minutes' walk to Brixton/Stockwell (Victoria and Northern lines) or 10 minutes to Loughborough Junction station for quick trains into central London. Myatts Fields Park is just 5 minutes away with football and tennis courts, and the popular Little Cat Cafe. Tesco Express, Co-op, off licence stores and pharmacies all nearby for essentials.
About us: We're a couple in our mid-late thirties, who both work in the arts (one as an interior photographer, the other as an exhibition producer). We've been happily settled here for nearly 4 years and love the space we've created. Our ideal housemate is someone chilled, respectful, and friendly. We enjoy the occasional night out or gathering, but generally keep things mellow during the week.
We're mostly working on-site during the day, so evenings and weekends are for unwinding. We love cooking (we keep a vegetarian household), movie nights in the living room with our projector setup, and heading out to gigs, exhibitions, sauna and cold plunges. The cozy communal areas we have created, we actually use and enjoy, rather than just pass through.
What we're looking for: Someone mature and easygoing who values a relaxed, respectful home environment. Single occupancy only (no couples), no smoking inside, and unfortunately no pets allowed. Ideally no full-time WFH. Bonus points if you appreciate good food, film, and music!
The practical bits:
- £830/month rent
- Share of bills approximately £116/month (council tax band D £54, energy £30, water £20, fast broadband £12)
- £750 deposit
- Rolling tenancy (new tenancy agreement to start)
- Available from April 8th
Landlord requirements:
- Passport copy (right to rent/settled status/visa)
- 3 recent payslips or bank statements
Please ask if you have any questions and let us know a bit about yourself. If this sounds like your kind of place, we'd love to hear from you!
