Hello, I am looking for a new person to take my housemate’s place, as after three lovely peaceful years together, he is moving out! I am looking for all the typical things, like doing a fair share of the cleaning, but also some other things as I have misophonia and am quite noise-sensitive. For example, doors and drawers need to be closed gently so as not to startle me out of my skin as I get spooked so easily. I am willing to live up to your standards of tidiness if they are higher than mine and am very accommodating of other people’s quirks and pet peeves.
I am a PhD physics student in my first year, and I work from home a lot due to chronic illness. My bedroom is smaller so I pretty much always hang out in the living room and I need the dining table space to work. The spare room is much larger and has space for a desk in case you also work from home/need privacy.
I hope that whoever wishes to move in does not mind me practising violin but otherwise I can play when they are out. I go to ballet class three evenings a week and like to have people around occasionally for games and chat/book club, and often will be doing bits of physio exercise and pilates in the living room too (maybe you would like to join me and use my yoga mat+weights).
I’d be happy to share vegan food and cooking and groceries in a way that makes sense for both of us! No cooking utensils or pans etc are needed as you can use the landlord’s and my own (but you are welcome to bring some of course).. The spare room has a bed, the two blue shelves, the baskets, and the bedside cabinet included. The bed has two drawers built in and there’s an additional storage cupboard where I keep the three drying racks including an electric one, and has additional space you can utilise. We also have access to two locked bike sheds and there is a parking space available that I don’t use (you would need to apply for it).
The apartment is owned by a landlord who we contact directly for issues. It’s £600 each per month not including bills, which cost around £250 total (or about £125 each). The move in date is flexible. Council tax band C.
