Hi there! I’m looking for a clean, respectful, and easygoing flatmate to share the flat I’m currently living in. My current flatmate has completed her placement in York and will be moving out, so I’m looking for someone to take her room.
About the flat:
The room is available from 20th September 2026. You’ll be taking over the exact double bedroom shown in the pictures, which comes fully furnished with a bed, wardrobe, duvet, and pillows. Plus, you'll have your own detached bathroom and plenty of personal storage space.
As for the rest of the flat, the kitchen area comes fully equipped with a washing machine, oven, toaster, and microwave. The living room has a TV and now features two workstations, as we prefer to work in the living area rather than in our bedrooms (please note that the living room photos don't show this current setup due to privacy reasons, but I can show you during a viewing!). There is also an allocated parking space and secure bike sheds available if you need them.
The Bills:
Bills (incl. WiFi, water, gas, and electricity) usually come to between £60 and £80 a month per person, as we're quite mindful of our energy and water usage.
About me:
I'm a PhD researcher at the University of York. I’d describe myself as clean, organized, sociable, and highly respectful of personal space. I'm a morning person, so I tend to keep fairly regular hours. I also have mild allergies to dust and bed bugs, so I really appreciate a tidy, clean living environment! In my free time, I love going to the gym, running, hiking, and traveling.
I'd love to live with someone who is similarly clean and tidy, friendly, and easygoing. It would be nice to share the occasional meal, coffee, or chat rather than simply being strangers under the same roof, while still respecting each other's personal space and routines.
About you:
Ideally, I'm looking for someone who is friendly, considerate, mindful of noise, and most importantly, clean and tidy. I would prefer a flatmate who enjoys a quieter lifestyle and doesn't regularly come home very late or frequently have overnight guests, as I really value having a peaceful, comfortable home environment.
Living together means sharing responsibilities, so we'd split household chores, such as taking out the rubbish and recycling, and giving the flat a hoover bi-weekly. By clean and tidy, I simply mean cleaning up after ourselves, washing dishes after cooking or eating, and keeping shared spaces pleasant for both of us. We also keep the flat shoe-free to help maintain cleanliness.
Nothing too strict, just mutual respect and consideration so that the flat feels comfortable and welcoming for everyone. I don't mean to sound overly serious, but I think it's helpful to be clear from the start so we can find the right fit.
