Hi,

After a decade of living in houseshares - I'm looking for another lodger to share the home with me and my girlfriend. I've had lodgers for 5 years now, people usually stay long after the fixed contract expires.

I have fast broadband (910 Mbps), the WiFi is solid. There's plenty of storage and freezer/fridge space.

Entertainment I currently have and share (but not binding):
- Amazon Prime Video
- Apple One family plan
- Channel 4+
- Disney+ (from a friend)
- Netflix family plan
- NowTV (my friends lend me their Sport and Entertainment)
- Paramount+
- Spotify family plan

House has smart speakers and lights (in most rooms including the bedrooms), decent TV (we're open to watching whatever the worst TV show is that you like) and smart washing machine / dryer. Dishwasher is not smart but that's there too. We have solar and batteries installed that continue providing power in a power-cut, so I'm pretty sure this house could ride out the early stages of an apocalypse and the boiler has smart controls so you can heat your room to your preferred temperature. There's an electric car charger that if you pay for your usage on an at-cost basis (7p/kWh - it already records usage) I'm happy to share that too. We also have aircon in the living room.

I currently work from home in the living room 3 days and 2 days in the office. I have an actual proper day job, I declare and pay tax on all earnings and lodge rooms out for company. Agreement is for 6 months but have had people stay here for anywhere between 8 - 17 months and have then moved in with partners, travelled abroad or work make them move jobs.

All the bedrooms in the house are doubles, are kitted out to roughly the same spec and I'm happy to discuss buying anything I'm missing.

The room isn’t really suitable for WFH but I don’t mind you trying or using another room in the house to work. I don’t mind someone trying to WFH but just being transparent on the limitations as it’s not really set up for it.

Bathroom (with bath) would be shared by only you and the other lodger. No cleaner currently provided so expecting us all to be tidy but neither of us are that fussy.

All bills included so long as you don't make my bills go up more than double what they typically are with lodgers (i. e. I can't fund your bitcoin mining rig 😂).

Have a nice garden too 🙂 and about 5 minutes away from Parkway train station and easy access to the M4 and M5. Next to a bus stop too that goes straight to the centre.

I work 9-5 so I'll be a bit slow replying during these hours. I also don't tend to reply if there's no profile picture (I get a lot of creepy and strange messages every time I list rooms). I value kindness and if it's helpful to know, I'm autistic and a bit of a lefty.

We have a little dog in the house.

Happy to take questions too.

Thanks for looking!

Matthew
