Hi everyone! I’m Cath, a 32 year old doctor, looking for a lodger in my lovely house in Wallsend. I’ve lived in flat shares for many years so have lots of experience at sharing a space. Looking for someone kind, fun and open to hanging out occasionally. Ideally someone who doesn't work from home, or only once/twice a week.
About me: I love socialising and seeing friends, but also like quiet nights in, cooking something new and having an early night. I work mainly day shifts but sometimes work evenings/weekends/nights and also work from home at times. My hobbies include running, cycling, pilates, yoga, bird watching and gin and tonics 😉
The room: the room is fitted with thick thermal curtains to keep the heat in during winter 😊 (and the daylight out at 5am!) There’s plenty of underbed storage too. I’m planning on getting a rug and an extra storage unit for the mirror to sit on, but wanted to see what my lodger’s preferences were before purchasing.
The rest of the house features an extra snug room/lounge so we can both have our own space, fitted with sofa bed, electric standing desk, TV and electric clothes dryer. Kitchen has a dishwasher, washer-dryer, air-fryer, microwave and has recently been fitted with extra units so there’s plenty of space for both our things/food. I’m planning on upgrading to a bigger fridge-freezer also once I get a lodger. The house is only 6 years old and well insulated so warms up quickly! Most of the white goods are brand new as I've only been in the house for just over a year.
Other key features: downstairs toilet and upstairs bathroom/toilet (with bath), lovely sunny garden with garden furniture, parasol, shed and 2 outdoor clothes lines. I have a loft also if extra storage space is needed. Plenty of off-street parking.
Surrounding area: the house is on the edge of the quiet estate, and overlooks the Rising Sun Country Park, which has 2 cafes, a bakery (excellent sourdough), a few lakes and a Park Run at the weekend. We’re walking distance from a massive Asda, as well as a Starbucks, JD Gym and the Range, plus there’s a local small Co-op on the estate which is very handy!
It’s a 9 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, which has regular buses into town. The nearest metro is about half an hour’s walk away. Council tax band B.
Any other questions, let me know! 😊
