I am offering a small but comfortable double room in my nice little house in Walthamstow, North-East London. The room measures about 8sqm and has a nice view over garden, allotments and reservoir beyond. It contains a washbasin with cold running water, double bed, desk and office chair as well as a clothes rail and good storage space.
The house comprises a loft which I use as a bed space and storage, plus a small room I use as my study/spare room.
I will be away in France for much of April & May, and whilst I'm away you will have almost the whole house to yourself. This includes your room plus all of the downstairs area comprising of good-sized lounge, kitchen/dining room and shower room/toilet, plus the garden of course for drying your laundry and/or enjoying the sunshine on the decking. I am looking for someone *who loves cats* (very important), and who I can trust to take care and keep an eye on things when I'm away.
There are 2 others lodgers living at this address; one (female) rents a cabin at the end of the garden, the other (male) is in a self-contained room on the 1st floor. Both are quiet, friendly, and entirely independent, except for the use of the washing machine once a week.
My interests include music, travel, birding & natural history, spirituality, yoga and meditation. I am currently developing a new business as a tour guide for birdwatching in the South of France, hence why I'll be spending time away. I also have a part time job in the visitor center of the popular nearby Walthamstow Wetlands nature reserve. I speak fluent French, get by in Spanish and speak a little Portuguese too.
I am looking for a friendly, mature, NON SMOKING professional person (or student).
*IMPORTANT* As mentioned already, it's essential that you're a cat lover as I have 2 delightful little sisters, and will need you to share feeding duties for them whilst I'm away (this only takes about 5 mins per day).
*This is a really popular, 'up & coming' area, with new bars, taprooms, and eateries nearby.
*Transport links for the house are good, with regular buses (or 12 min walk) to Victoria line zone 3 (including night tube at weekends) or St James St overground (15 mins to Liverpool St station).
*This is a nice area too for walks/running/bike rides in nearby Lea Valley Park, Tottenham marshes and Walthamstow Wetlands.
*There is parking on the street, but you would need to buy a permit from the local council (not sure how much this will be but let me know if this is of interest).
*Rent is £750pcm inclusive of all bills. The house has a smart TV, excellent Wi-fi and fast broadband.
*Room is available from 1st April and I require 2 references (work/college/past landlord) plus £500 deposit with one month's rent up front.
*As you’ll be sharing the house with 1, sometimes 2 others, and because it’s a smallish house, I'm looking for someone respectful of that and the room is therefore not suitable for anyone wishing to make a lot of noise.
*Sorry NO OTHER PETS, and NO COUPLES*
*Sorry, no Universal Credit*
*I am also happy to consider short lets (2-3 months), as well as Monday-Friday lets, for which the rent will be negotiable.
*If you think you might be a good fit for this house or have any question, feel free to get in touch.
*NB: PLEASE TELL ME A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF when replying. If you don't, then you shouldn't expect a reply!
Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you.
