Hey new housemate!
Our lovely flatmate of five years is moving out at the end of March, and we’re looking for someone to join us for the remainder of our tenancy (current contract runs until 31/03/2027).
The Bedroom
A large double room (16.47m²) at the front of the house, with a big south-facing bay window overlooking our quiet, tree-lined street. It’s on the first floor, so although the windows face the front, you can comfortably (and safely!) leave them open during those London summer nights.
The room has high ceilings and loads of natural light, so it always feels bright and spacious. It’s currently rented unfurnished from the landlord, but as our current housemate is moving in with his partner, there may be the option to buy/take some of his existing furniture if you’d like.
Rent: £730pcm
Bills: £125pcm (covers all utilities, council tax, internet and a bi-weekly cleaner). We review this occasionally if prices change.
Deposit: <£10 for the Zero deposit insurance.
The Flat
We live in a split-level maisonette on the top two floors of a late Victorian terrace, with direct access from the street via a shared front garden.
There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. One is Laurianne’s en-suite, and the other (on the first floor) is shared by Lea, Thomas and potentially you!
We have a big kitchen/living space with plenty of room to cook and hang out without feeling on top of each other. We share cookware, crockery, plates etc., and have all the usual mod-cons including a dishwasher (essential), a six-person dining table and two fridge freezers – so no battling for shelf space.
There’s a TV in the living room and between us we have most streaming platforms. It’s a social space - someone’s usually watching something that ends up pulling others in. That said, we all respect the need for your own space/time.
We also have:
+ A small office space with room for another desk
+ A private garden with good sun in summer
+ Gated rear access via a back alley (handy for bikes)
About Us
Lea (33) - A practice nurse and part-time aesthetics practitioner from Derby. She has a big laugh and comes with Luna (spoon), her miniature dachshund, who will absolutely greet you at the top of the stairs every day demanding fuss.
Thomas (35) - A brand consultant, very Welsh, loves Diet Coke, and always up for a chat.
Laurianne (30) - Works in project management/advertising. Loves a vintage find and will turn her hand to anything crafty or DIY-related… check the mugs for her maker’s mark!
We’re all friendly, chatty and sociable, but we value our own space too. It’s a relaxed home, social but definitely not a party house. We all work standard hours, with Laurianne and Thomas occasionally working from home during the week.
About You
We’re ideally looking for someone aged around 30–38 who’s at a similar stage of life. It would be great to find someone with shared interests so we can keep the house feeling warm and easy-going.
We’re an LGBTQ+ friendly house and would want our new housemate to be completely comfortable with and respectful of that.
Because this is a private rental, you’ll need to sign onto the existing contract (ending 31/03/2027) with our letting agent and be able to pass referencing checks.
The Area & Transport
+ 10–15 minute walk to Turnham Green and Stamford Brook (District Line)
+ Further options around Shepherd’s Bush (Central Line)
+ Frequent buses along Uxbridge Road and Askew Road (5 mins away)
+ Westfield White City, Shepherd’s Bush Market and Hammersmith are around 10 minutes by bus or about 20 minutes on foot.
Amenities & Local Area
Askew Village is a five-minute walk away and has everything you need for a lazy Sunday: independent coffee shops (plus a Gail’s), an amazing Japanese bakery, Lark, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Co-op and a very cool vintage furniture shop.
There are also great local pubs like The Princess Victoria and The Eagle, plus plenty of small restaurants and takeaways.
There’s a small but lovely park opposite the house, and both Acton Park and Ravenscourt Park are around 15 minutes’ walk if you fancy a proper stroll.
If this sounds like your kind of home, we’d love to hear from you. Tell us a bit about yourself and what you’re looking for in a house share.
