I have loved living here for almost a year and I am only advertising because my flatmate is sadly moving back home. It is a genuinely gorgeous flat in a beautiful, safe neighbourhood, and it has always felt like a home.
I have lived in four properties around London across my four years here and viewed well over thirty, and this one is by far my favourite. The location, the way it is built for sharing, the natural light, and the convenience of it all put it ahead of everywhere else.
On timing, the room could be available from September if that works better for your move, so do let me know what suits you.
The location is an 11 minute walk to Pimlico station, there is a bus stop right outside the door that gets you all across central London (bus 24), and Battersea Power Park is just around the corner.
There is also a roof terrace with a table and chairs and a lovely leafy outlook, which is a proper treat in the warmer months. Inside, the flat is split level, bright, and full of greenery through the windows. Hosted a BBQ on the balcony this summer for the first time :)
The room on offer is the ground floor double. The bigger of the two rooms. The windows do not look directly onto the street. There is a tenant living below with a garden at basement level, and that sits between the room and the road, so it stays private and quiet. The room currently has a sofa bed in it that you are welcome to keep or take out, whatever suits you. There is a downstairs toilet that my flatmate mainly used too, so you can happily make that your own.
There is a third little room as well. It is too small to count as a bedroom, so day to day I use it as a laundry room, and it turns into a guest room whenever someone stays over (a big plus if you are international, and have family visiting during the year).
The house has a washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher. I have slowly furnished the place and added character over the year, and there is still more that could be done if you happen to come with a bit of furniture experience of your own.
A little about me. I recently graduated from UCL and have just started full time work, so I am out most days on a 9 to 5. I like keeping the place clean and looked after, and I love having people over every now and then. I am looking for someone easy going and clean who I get on with, who will respect the space and help make it feel like home. If that sounds like you, please do keep it in mind when you get in touch.
Costs: Council tax works out at £70 each, and bills, with all utilities and wifi included, come to £130 each.
