The master en-suite is on the top floor of our three-storey semi-detached.
Your room is the best in the house, with big windows overlooking a large green, a fitted wardrobe and decent floor space.
The photos here show how it was while relatives were using it, with their Super King size bed. The chaise longue has already gone, and we expect the bed will be collected sometime this year. But whenever they end up taking it away, we will immediately replace it with a standard double. The chest of drawers might also be replaced.
You will have shared use of the following:
- The kitchen. You will have your own cupboard, plus a shelf and two storage baskets inside a food larder (a new item, not pictured in this advert). You will be sharing the fridge-freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. You can use our kitchenware (cookware, cutlery, crockery, glasses, cups, tea-towels, etc). We don’t sit at the dining table to eat, and we encourage you to use it so you don’t have to eat in your bedroom.
- Ground floor cloakroom with hooks for coats plus the guest W. C.
- Shoe rack near the front door.
You will also have the use of one off-street allocated parking space.
We are two older ladies: My elderly mother, Joan, and me. Joan is the owner of the house and has mobility issues. She has her bedroom, living room and shower room all on the first floor. I am deaf and I do not work. I care for Joan, and I attend to almost all her business affairs on her behalf. My bedroom is on the second floor, next to your en-suite bedroom, and the family bathroom, next to it, is for my own use.
Joan and I spend most of our time in Joan's living room on the first floor and we eat there in front of the TV, which we watch with subtitles and no sound. Joan loves to knit, do Sudoku and read. I cook quite a lot.
We are omnivores, but only just - most of the time we eat a vegan wholefood diet.
We respect Nature and we make efforts to minimise our ecological impact on the planet. We do not kill spiders that take up residence in our home; we make an effort to avoid plastics (at least new ones); we use only natural cleaning products; we turn off lights and radiators in rooms we are not using; we fill the kettle with only the amount of water we need; we compost and recycle; etc.
We want to share our house with a mentally and emotionally mature and responsible woman, who also lives with Nature in mind, and who respects how we have chosen to do things in our home.
It is important to us that you are confident about communicating in a fair and reasonable manner, generally, but especially if you are unhappy about anything so we are aware and can help put things right.
Considerate friends and family may visit you. We are open to living with house-trained and well-behaved pets.
All the usual bills are included, including broadband and Council Tax. You would pay separately for your personal phone and contents insurance.
We hope to meet interested candidates during February. The room will be available from March. The exact start date is somewhat flexible.
If you like the sound of us, we look forward to hearing from you.
