Hi there! I’m looking for a clean, respectful, and easygoing flatmate to share the flat I’m currently living in. My current flatmate has completed her placement in York and will be moving out, so I’m looking for someone to take her room.

About the flat:
- Available from 20th September 2026
- Fully furnished room with bed, wardrobe, duvet and pillow
- The room shown in the ad pictures will be yours. It’s a double-bed bedroom with a detached bathroom
- Shared kitchen and living room
- Appliances include a washing machine, oven, toaster and microwave
- Bills are split between us. WiFi, electricity, gas, and water typically cost between £60 and £80 per month per person.

About me:
I'm a PhD researcher at the University of York and would describe myself as very clean, organised, sociable, and respectful of personal space. I'm also a morning person, so I tend to keep fairly regular hours and appreciate a calm and tidy living environment. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, running, hiking, travelling, and trying new things. I love animals, although unfortunately pets aren't allowed in the flat due to the tenancy agreement.

I'd love to live with someone who is similarly clean and tidy, friendly, and easygoing. It would be nice to share the occasional meal, coffee, or chat rather than simply being strangers under the same roof, while still respecting each other's personal space and routines.

About you:
Ideally, I'm looking for someone who is friendly, considerate, mindful about noise, and most importantly, clean and tidy. I'd also prefer someone who enjoys a quieter lifestyle and doesn't regularly come home very late or have frequent nights out, as I value having a peaceful and comfortable home environment.

Living together means sharing responsibilities, so we'd split household chores, such as taking out the rubbish and recycling, and giving the flat a quick hoover every couple of weeks. By clean and tidy, I simply mean cleaning up after ourselves, washing dishes after cooking or eating, and keeping shared spaces pleasant for both of us. We also keep the flat shoe free to help maintain cleanliness.

Nothing too strict, just mutual respect and consideration so that the flat feels comfortable and welcoming for everyone. I don't mean to sound overly serious, but I think it's helpful to be clear from the start so we can find the right fit.

Additional requirements:
You must have the right to rent in the UK. It would also be great if you can provide a reference from a previous landlord.
