-----------------------------------
Duration :
If you're a student or visiting academic, renting till the end of your course / academic year / visit, with the possibility to extend. Otherwise, renting for three months initially, with the possibility to extend.
The house :
Shared kitchen with washing machine, bathroom with decent shower (no bath), and dining area and lounge (no TV). You'll have your own personal shelves in the kitchen, fridge, freezer and bathroom. Since your storage is limited to these and your bedroom, not suitable for those that have lots of kitchen equipment, or other items that won't fit into their bedroom. However, the bedroom has plenty of storage; see below.
Gorgeous views, a lovely garden and pond, free on-street parking (Zone D), and a place to lock your bike right next to the house. The garden's a great place to take a break, relax, or chat with a friend, with various seating areas to choose from.
About you :
You're a considerate non-smoker, who'll happily say hello and maybe have a chat if time allows, but are also happy doing your own thing. You're happy to clear up after yourself, keep your room clean, and keep noise minimal after 10.30pm during the week (you're not generally a night owl).
You study or work outside the home at least 2 weekdays a week.
Ideally, you're pescetarian, vegetarian, or don't cook much meat at home (this can be flexible, if it's a good fit in other ways). Since I'm sensitive to chilli, you'd need to be OK with cooking low or no chilli foods.
The room :
It's fresh, clean and airy, with a lovely fireplace and plenty of built-in storage. The desk (W75 x D50cm) has a handy drawer and an adjustable chair. There's a fitted wardrobe with two rails, cupboards, drawers, bookshelf, under-bed storage, and hooks on the back of the door, for hoodies, jackets, scarves and bags.
The location :
- A short bike or bus ride to Sussex University.
- A short walk down the hill to the Moulsecoomb campus & university library, Lewes Road's many buses (including night buses, and the 3X express bus to Brighton Station), and Moulsecoomb train station, linking to Brighton station, Falmer, Lewes and beyond.
- A 2-minute walk to the corner shop / post office, and the #49 bus into central Brighton.
- Beautiful hills with sea views right across the road.
About us :
You’ll be sharing with the friendly, welcoming owner (me, I'm British) and one other lodger; a lovely German male full-time postgrad student who's on-campus most days. I’m mainly pescetarian, and normally work office hours from home. I'm usually out several nights a week, and I'm in and out at the weekend. I enjoy singing, Parkruns, and getting outside when the weather’s nice.
