A welcoming couple are seeking a female Homesharer to join them in their spacious period home in central Dover. They are looking for someone who values companionship and is interested in becoming part of a friendly household while enjoying affordable accommodation in exchange for some light help around the home.

The household enjoys reading, music, travel and conversation. One householder continues to work part-time as a lawyer, whilst the other has a creative background and enjoys reading and art. They would welcome someone who is kind, patient and happy to share everyday conversation and companionship.

The Homesharer will have the use of a very large furnished double bedroom, an additional room for personal use, a private bathroom, Wi-Fi and access to the shared kitchen and living areas. There is also a separate garden office, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who works from home.

Located on one of Dover’s sought after residential streets, the home is just a six minute walk from Dover Priory station, around 10 minutes from the seafront and within easy reach of shops, cafés and local amenities. Parking permits can also be arranged if required.

In return for the low cost accommodation, the household are looking for approximately 10 hours of support each week to support the female householder who has some health concerns whilst her husband may be away at work/ other activities. Support may include:

* Friendly companionship and conversation.
* Sharing or preparing simple meals / heating up meals
* Being around overnight a few nights per week if her husband is away (no help needed overnight just presence in the home if the need arises)
* Occasional shopping or errands if convenient.

The household are open to share with females or couples. Someone with flexible working hours or who works from home may be particularly well suited to this placement, although other working patterns will also be considered.

About Homeshare

Homeshare offers affordable accommodation in exchange for support for 10 hours per week or light support such as companionship, practical help and an overnight presence. Homesharers pay a monthly participation fee to the scheme but do not pay rent. They are responsible for their own food and personal living expenses.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check, provide suitable references and complete a matching process to ensure the placement is right for both the Homesharer and the household.
