You'll have the whole boat to yourself: a comfortable double bedroom with a proper Emma mattress (super comfy!) and storage underneath, an open kitchen-living space with full kitchen amenities and a fridge, and a bathroom with gas-heated shower, wash basin and chemical loo.
For this period the boat sits on hardstanding at the marina - accessed via ladder, up on stands close to the canal - plugged into mains electricity via meter, with toilets and showers available on site, as well as water points to fill up the boat's 500L water tank. It's a settled, sociable spot for the colder months, no need to worry about moving moorings.
If you'd rather go it (mostly) alone, there's also the option to skip the winter mooring for a reduced rate - the boat would then run on solar with an integrated generator as backup. Worth knowing: solar can struggle to keep the fridge reliably powered through winter daylight hours, so this route suits someone experienced with canal living and happy to be hands-on. Not for the fainthearted, but a lovely, affordable way to live on the water if you know what you're doing.
No council tax applicable - boaters are exempt.
Happy to answer any questions about the boat, the marina, or what canal living actually involves before you commit.
