Three of us signed the lease for an amazing house in Dalston starting on October 27th 2025; and now one flatmate is moving out so that she can move in with her partner. So two of us are now looking for a new flatmate!
The house is huge: 3 bedrooms, 2,5 bathrooms, big eat-in kitchen (with dishwasher), garden, utility room with washing machine, a big, separate living room, tons of storage all over the house (and an additional attic) and parking. It's semi-furnished and we also do have some furniture to make it a lovely home.
Your room will be a mid-sized room on the top floor (there are 3 floors), and shares a bathroom with one other housemate. You will need to bring your own bed and mattress, as they are not included. (Recent pictures of the room to be added soon.)
Location couldn’t be better: The house is in walking distance to several overground stations: 10min to Hackney Central (Mildmay Line) and Hackney Downs (Weaver-10min to Liverpool Street) and 15min to Dalston Junction (Windrush). Bus stop basically in front of the house. It’s 2min walk from Hackney Downs Park and 10min to all the bustle of Dalston with its shops, restaurants, pubs, clubs and Ridley Road market.
A bit about us: We are two friends in our mid-30s/early-40s. Larissa is a queer journalist turned PhD student (Politics at Goldsmiths). They enjoy cooking (vegetarian), heading to the pub, a nice gig, the odd rave or escaping the city all together for a hiking trip. Manjot is a trainee maths teacher. He enjoys films, left-wing politics, and keeping active.
We are looking for someone in their 30s or early 40s, but flexible for the right person. It’s important to us to find someone who wants the house to be a home not just a place to crash and is interested in building community. While we have our independent lives, we also love spending time with our flatmates and usually have become friends with them in the past. So much nicer than living with strangers. We very much like a clean and friendly living environment. No party house, but we love to have friends over for dinner, BBQs, etc. Cats are welcome TBC by the agent. Dogs unfortunately not.
The boring stuff: The room is available July 27th (it may well be possible to move in sooner). It’s £1000 pcm plus bills (approx. £150-200 pcm). (Council tax band E.) You would be added to the lease and have to pass reference checks, but the agency seems pretty relaxed. We will be holding some viewings on the evenings of week beginning 15th June, so do please share your availability as well.
