This is an airy, relaxing room on the second floor of a two-floor flat. It's great for summer with good airflow because it has sliding doors that lead onto a private balcony as well as a smaller window. One wall is filled with a built-in wardrobe, and another has bookshelves and built-in drawers. A double bed, chair, and side table are included. It's very private from the rest of the flat. There is a bathroom as well with a shower and tub, however the washer and dryer are in the bathroom so it's not totally private (I have my own bathroom).
There is a shared living room and kitchen/dining, with a gas hob, oven, and dishwasher (sorry, no microwave oven). There's a small patio in the entranceway with ivy and a grapevine. My landlady is the architect of the house (built 2005) and has been very responsive when anything has gone wrong.
I do have a 2 year old dog, a wire haired fox terrier who is super friendly and would love another person in the flat, so you must be animal friendly.
I am a software engineer (currently looking for work and likely to work remote). I'm an introvert and would prefer the same. I am LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent welcoming. I have a slight preference for a single flatmate over a couple but I understand the rent could be challenging (it's been challenging me!).
I would prefer a shorter term length of stay at least initially, just to make sure we are compatible without being stuck together. My lease is month-to-month with my landlady (but I've lived here for 9 years).
The flat is in council band D for Hackney. Also one other thing to note is that while the flat is in Hackney, the constituency has just been changed to Islington South and Finsbury.
The flat is located in De Beauvoir in Hackney, which is next to Dalston. It's on a (relatively) quiet cobble mews with great public transit connectivity. There's a bus stop for 38. 56. 30 about 30 seconds away, with close by stops for 141, 76, 73, 149, 242. 243 and others. It's about an 8 minute walk to Dalston Junction and the Overground. The nearest tube stations are Angel and Highbury & Islington. The flat is also close to Stoke Newington Green, De Beauvoir Square, and St Paul Shrubbery, with longer walks to Clissold Park, Shoreditch Park, and London Fields.
